INTERNATIONAL PRACTICAL WORKSHOP IN THE UNIVERSITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT OF THE ERAZMUS PROGRAM
From 4 to 6 April 2017, the first organizational meeting of the consortium of the Erasmus program project “Innovative ICT education for social and economic development” (IESED) – “Innovative education in the field of information and communication technologies for social and economic development” and international practical Seminar “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals” within the framework of implementation.
More than 80 representatives from 9 educational institutions-partners of Belarus, Lithuania, Great Britain, France and Poland took part in the event: Alytus College (University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania – project coordinator); Institute of Business and Management Technologies of BSU; BSPU; Private Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (PIUP); Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU); Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR); University of De Monfort (Great Britain); University of Science and Technology Lille-1 (France); University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland), students and teachers of BSPU.
Vice-rector for educational work of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University Valery Zelenkevich, head of the national Erasmus office in Belarus Nikolay Izmailovich Listopad, director of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Danuta Remekieni, coordinator of the project, head of the international cooperation department of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Rosalia Radlinkaite, Vladimir Vladimirovich Apanasovich, Director of the Institute of Business and Management of Technologies of the Belarusian State University, Rector of the Private Institute of Management Yury Ivanovich Miksyuk, the first vice-rector of the Vitebsk State Technological University Valery Anatolyevich Zhiznevsky.
At the organizational meeting, all 9 partner universities presented the participants of the seminar with presentations of their institutions, got acquainted with the goals, objectives and expected results of the project, discussed topical issues of training ICT specialists in the conditions of the Belarusian labor market.
The members of the management team took part in the discussion of the work plan for the project implementation, and for the teachers from the Belarusian partner universities and experts from the EU partner universities an excursion around the university was organized, including a visit to the art gallery, the renovated BSPU History Museum, the rare book room and the scientific- Research laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
On April 5, the work of the project consortium continued in the framework of the international workshop “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals”. At the seminar representatives of universities presented their experience in the formation of ICT competencies in the context of popular specialties in education, IT industry, marketing in Belarus, Great Britain, Poland and France. The experts shared their experience in the formation of training programs in IT areas at partner universities of the European Union, as well as new directions in the development of pedagogy for translational research.
Analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of the profile direction “Mathematics and Information Technology”, which is being developed by the Belarusian State Pedagogical University within the framework of the project, was presented by the dean of the Physics and Mathematics Department, Sergei Ivanovich Vasilets.
At a meeting of the management team on April 5, considerable attention was paid to the joint development of key competencies of IT professionals in demand in the modern labor market, as well as the development of recommendations and plans for updating curricula in the relevant areas of the project. Within the framework of the meeting, the roles, rights and responsibilities of each partner were identified and agreed upon.
During the seminar on April 5 and 6, its participants made in-depth visits to the leading IT companies – Intransition Software Company, EPAM Systems and Wargaming, and Belarusian partner universities located in Minsk – BSU Institute of Business and Technology Management, Private Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
On 6 April, summing up the results of the event on the basis of the BSUIR, the coordinator of the project, the dean of the faculty of information technologies of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences, Lina Kankevichiene, expressed her special gratitude to the Belarusian State Pedagogical University for a clear organization of the event, and also expressed deep gratitude to all participants of the seminar for fruitful joint work.
In conclusion, the head of the Center for the Development of Information Technologies of BSPU Oksana Minich expressed confidence in the equally successful continuation of cooperation and achievement of the set goals for the project. At the conclusion of the seminar all partner universities that took part in this event received memorable photographs and souvenirs from the Belarusian State Pedagogical University.
