From April 4 to 6, 2017, the first organizational meeting of the consortium of the Erasmus + program project “Innovative ICT education for social and economic development” (IESED) – “Innovative education in the field of information and communication technologies for social and economic development” was held.

The goal of the Erasmus + project is to increase the competitiveness of Belarusian universities by improving the competence of IT professionals and improving the quality of higher education that meets the changing needs of the economy of the Republic of Belarus and the requirements of the Bologna Process. The project is designed for three years and will end on October 14, 2019.

The consortium of the project includes: Institute of Business and Management and Technologies of BSU (Belarus); Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank (Belarus); Private Institute of Management and Business (Belarus); Vitebsk State Technological University (Belarus); Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (Belarus); University of De Monfort (Great Britain); University of Science and Technology Lille (France); University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland).

More than 80 representatives of the universities-members of the consortium took part in the event. IBMT was represented by the project implementation team represented by the director of the institute V.V. Apanasovich, deputy head of the international relations department Eugene I. Lugovtsova, head of the educational-methodical department Morozova NI, head of the center for distance education and IT-technologies Makovsky EV, deputy director for educational work and information technologies A. The Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University, Valery Zelenkevich, the head of the Erasmus + national office in Belarus, Nikolay Izmailovich Listopad, the director of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Danuta Remekieni, the project coordinator, the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Rosalia Radlinkaite, Vladimir Vladimirovich Apanasovich, Director of the Institute of Business and Management of Technologies of the Belarusian State University, Rector of the Private Institute of Management Yury Ivanovich Miksyuk, the first vice-rector of the Vitebsk State Technological University Valery Anatolyevich Zhiznevsky.

Representatives of partner universities familiarized the participants with their institutions and discussed topical issues of training ICT specialists in the conditions of the Belarusian labor market. Members of the management team took part in the discussion of the work plan for the project implementation.

On April 5, within the framework of the international workshop “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Teaching IT Professionals,” the universities presented their experience in the formation of ICT competencies in the context of popular specialties in education, IT industry, marketing in Belarus, Great Britain, Poland and France. The experts shared their experience in the formation of training programs in IT areas at partner universities of the European Union, as well as new directions in the development of pedagogy for translational research.
