Thirty eight teachers from Belarus partner universities participated in two weeks internship „Innovative Study Methods” held at University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, Poland on 16 – 22 July 2017 and 23 – 29 July 2017. The goal of the internship was to familiarise the teachers of Belarus partner universities with innovative study methods and possibility to apply them creatively in the study process. The teachers got acquainted with innovative methods of organising independent work of students, learnt to effectively apply project management and problem solving/problem-based learning methods. Practical approach of the internship in Poland was strongly appreciated by the event participants.


 

The project experts and representatives of partner universities will attend the practical seminar „Modelling of IT Specialist Profile“ to be held at partner institution Lille University of Science and Technology, IUT “A” in France on 23 – 27 October 2017. During the seminar a profile of IT specialist competencies and a description of course requirements will be formed.

During the week of this activity Consortium Meeting 2 will be arranged as well to oversee and estimate the activities of the WP1 “Preparation” and financial aspects of the project implementation.

On June 6, the meeting of the director of the college Ankuda S.N. was held.

And students of the RTOs with the director of the business incubator BSUIR Lapets I.V. The meeting discussed the issues of the participation of the college in the competition of projects that can be placed in the business incubator of the university.

The main aims of the project is to increase competitiveness of Belarus partner universities offering high-quality higher education that meets the changing needs of the economic environment; assistance in increase of competencies of specialists in the IT field and improvement of the quality of higher education which meets changing needs of the economy of the Republic of Belarus and requirements of the Bologna process.

Specific objectives:

1. Development of modern competencies of specialists in IT field.

2. Modernization of syllabi training IT specialists, development and implementation of 5 new flexible programmes on the bachelor level based on new approaches, European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) into a line with Bologna requirements.

3. Bringing 25 modern courses, implementing innovative teaching / learning methods and tools.

4. Purchasing special equipment for 5 eLearning laboratories for partner universities from Belarus.

INTERNATIONAL PRACTICAL WORKSHOP IN THE UNIVERSITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT OF THE ERAZMUS PROGRAM

From 4 to 6 April 2017, the first organizational meeting of the consortium of the Erasmus program project “Innovative ICT education for social and economic development” (IESED) – “Innovative education in the field of information and communication technologies for social and economic development” and international practical Seminar “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals” within the framework of implementation.

More than 80 representatives from 9 educational institutions-partners of Belarus, Lithuania, Great Britain, France and Poland took part in the event: Alytus College (University of Applied Sciences, Lithuania – project coordinator); Institute of Business and Management Technologies of BSU; BSPU; Private Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (PIUP); Vitebsk State Technological University (VSTU); Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR); University of De Monfort (Great Britain); University of Science and Technology Lille-1 (France); University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland), students and teachers of BSPU.

Vice-rector for educational work of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University Valery Zelenkevich, head of the national Erasmus office in Belarus Nikolay Izmailovich Listopad, director of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Danuta Remekieni, coordinator of the project, head of the international cooperation department of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences Rosalia Radlinkaite, Vladimir Vladimirovich Apanasovich, Director of the Institute of Business and Management of Technologies of the Belarusian State University, Rector of the Private Institute of Management Yury Ivanovich Miksyuk, the first vice-rector of the Vitebsk State Technological University Valery Anatolyevich Zhiznevsky.

At the organizational meeting, all 9 partner universities presented the participants of the seminar with presentations of their institutions, got acquainted with the goals, objectives and expected results of the project, discussed topical issues of training ICT specialists in the conditions of the Belarusian labor market.

The members of the management team took part in the discussion of the work plan for the project implementation, and for the teachers from the Belarusian partner universities and experts from the EU partner universities an excursion around the university was organized, including a visit to the art gallery, the renovated BSPU History Museum, the rare book room and the scientific- Research laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

On April 5, the work of the project consortium continued in the framework of the international workshop “Synthesis of Competencies and Technologies in Training IT Professionals”. At the seminar representatives of universities presented their experience in the formation of ICT competencies in the context of popular specialties in education, IT industry, marketing in Belarus, Great Britain, Poland and France. The experts shared their experience in the formation of training programs in IT areas at partner universities of the European Union, as well as new directions in the development of pedagogy for translational research.

Analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of the profile direction “Mathematics and Information Technology”, which is being developed by the Belarusian State Pedagogical University within the framework of the project, was presented by the dean of the Physics and Mathematics Department, Sergei Ivanovich Vasilets.

At a meeting of the management team on April 5, considerable attention was paid to the joint development of key competencies of IT professionals in demand in the modern labor market, as well as the development of recommendations and plans for updating curricula in the relevant areas of the project. Within the framework of the meeting, the roles, rights and responsibilities of each partner were identified and agreed upon.

During the seminar on April 5 and 6, its participants made in-depth visits to the leading IT companies – Intransition Software Company, EPAM Systems and Wargaming, and Belarusian partner universities located in Minsk – BSU Institute of Business and Technology Management, Private Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

On 6 April, summing up the results of the event on the basis of the BSUIR, the coordinator of the project, the dean of the faculty of information technologies of the Alytus Collegium of the University of Applied Sciences, Lina Kankevichiene, expressed her special gratitude to the Belarusian State Pedagogical University for a clear organization of the event, and also expressed deep gratitude to all participants of the seminar for fruitful joint work.

In conclusion, the head of the Center for the Development of Information Technologies of BSPU Oksana Minich expressed confidence in the equally successful continuation of cooperation and achievement of the set goals for the project. At the conclusion of the seminar all partner universities that took part in this event received memorable photographs and souvenirs from the Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

EUROSTUDIES

Delegates from WSG University are currently at the kick-off meeting in Belarus. The aim of the visit in Belarusian Pedagogical State University in Misk is developing a new model of education in ICT field in Belarus and, of course, identifying common prospects for cooperation.

Among projects partners we can found a well-known academic institutions: De Montfort University (GB), Lille University of Science and Technology (FR) i Alytaus Kolegija University of Applied Sciences (LT). The action’s beneficiaries are five higher education institutions from Belarus: Belarusian State Pedagogical University, School of Business and Management of Technology of Belarusian State University, Vitebsk State Technological University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and Private Institute of Management and Business.

The kick-off meeting takes place in Minsk from 3rd to 7th April. The visit is covered from Erasmus+ funds.

According to the project’s plan we are going to host 40 Belarusian Academic Teachers on workshops: Innovative Study Methods.

REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INSTITUTE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ERAZMUS PROGRAM + TAKE PART IN THE CONSORTIUM ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ICT COMPETENCIES

From April 4 to 6, 2017, the first organizational meeting of the consortium of the Erasmus + program project “Innovative ICT education for social and economic development” (IESED) – “Innovative education in the field of information and communication technologies for social and economic development” was held.

The goal of the Erasmus + project is to increase the competitiveness of Belarusian universities by improving the competence of IT professionals and improving the quality of higher education that meets the changing needs of the economy of the Republic of Belarus and the requirements of the Bologna Process. The project is designed for three years and will end on October 14, 2019.

The consortium of the project includes: Institute of Business and Management and Technologies of BSU (Belarus); Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank (Belarus); Private Institute of Management and Business (Belarus); Vitebsk State Technological University (Belarus); Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (Belarus); University of De Monfort (Great Britain); University of Science and Technology Lille (France); University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Poland).

A meeting of the consortium on Erasmus +, the IESED project was held in the BSUIR.

On April 6, the results of the first Erasmus + installation meeting, the IESED project (Innovative Education in Information and Communication Technologies for Socio-Economic Development) were held at the Belarusian State University of Management and Information Systems.

BSUIR was visited by representatives of educational institutions that are members of the consortium of the project:

The participants of the meeting visited the exhibition of achievements of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the Minsk Radio Technical College, as well as some of the laboratories. Namely, the international educational and research center “Android Software Center”, organized jointly with FORTE Knowledge of the Illinois Technological Association (ITA) with the involvement of IT specialists from the USA; Educational and research center “INTES”, created by the innovative company “INTES” with the support of foreign companies Schneider Electric (France) and CISCO (USA); A joint educational and research laboratory “Embedded mobile systems” with the innovative company AXONIM Devices – a partner of Analog Devices, Texas Instruments and ST Microelectronics.

To the guests of the university there were presented laboratories of the department of electronics, where they prepare specialists for the NPP. And at the department of electronic computers, representatives of the consortium got the opportunity to try the application for karaoke, created due to the methods of modeling speech signals. Recall that this development this year allowed the assistant professor of the department of the EMU BSUIR Ilya Sergeevich Azarov to defend his doctoral dissertation.
